Phenoloxidase activity in mycelia carrying modifier mutations that affect sporocarp development in Schizophyllum commune.

چکیده
Phenoloxidase activity was studied in mycelia carrying mutations that affect sporocarp formation. The results suggest that phenoloxidase activity may be essential to, but is not sufficient for, the fruiting response in Schizophyllum.

Purification and characterization of chitinase A of Streptomyces cyaneus SP-27: an enzyme participates in protoplast formation from Schizophyllum commune mycelia.
A culture filtrate of Bacillus circulans KA-304 grown on a cell-wall preparation of Schizophyllum commune has an activity to form protoplasts from S. commune mycelia. alpha-1,3-Glucanase and chitinase I, which were isolated from the filtrate, did not form the protoplast by itself while a mixture of them showed protoplast-forming activity. Streptomyces cyaneus SP-27 was isolated based on the pro...
متن کاملIn vitro Antifungal Activities and Phytochemical Analysis of Filamentous White-rot Fungi, Schizophyllum commune
In this study, the in-vitro antifungal activity and phytochemical analysis of Schizophyllum commune extracts have been investigated. The antifungal activity was tested against 11 species of selected wood degrading fungi of rubberwood. The results showed that water, methanol and ethanol extracts significantly inhibited the growth of wood degrading fungi with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC...
متن کاملMaxillary sinusitis caused by medusoid form of Schizophyllum commune.
We present a case of maxillary sinusitis in a diabetic female caused by the basidiomycete fungus Schizophyllum commune. Identification of the isolate was hampered by its atypical features. Subcultures formed sterile medusoid structures from nonclamped mycelia until spontaneous dikaryotization resulted in the development of characteristic fan-shaped fruiting bodies. Identification was confirmed ...
متن کاملCobalt as a Mitochondrial Density Marker in a Study of Cytoplasmic Exchange during Mating of Schizophyllum Commune
A slow in vivo uptake of cobalt from a growth medium resulted in an increase in density of mitochondria of Schizophyllum commune. Differential labeling of donor and resident mycelia, and subsequent analysis of resident mycelia surrounding donor implants, detected cobalt-dense mitochondria and demonstrated exchange of mitochondria after hyphal fusion. Transfer of mitochondria occurred in fully c...
متن کاملMorphogenesis in Schizophyllum commune. I. Effects of white light.
Reproductive differentiation in the basidiomycete Schizophyllum commune Fr. is initiated by plasmogamy and reciprocal nuclear migration and is terminated by the production of basidiospores. The work reported here has analyzed several factors that affect 2 sequential steps in reproductive differentiation: A) the formation of aggregated masses of cells, and B) the subsequent differentiation of fr...
